How Portfolio Work Is Evaluated in Interviews

Most digital marketing interviews at agencies and brand teams in Delhi NCR include one or more of the following:

  • A practical task: build a campaign structure, audit an ad account, or analyze a GA4 report during or before the interview.
  • A portfolio review: the interviewer asks the candidate to walk through work they have done.
  • A case study question: the interviewer describes a campaign scenario and asks what the candidate would do.

What Determines Whether a Student Gets Hired

Completing a GMIE course does not guarantee employment. The following factors affect whether a candidate gets hired, and most of them are not controlled by any institute.

The job market

Hiring volume at agencies and brand teams in Delhi NCR changes with business conditions.

The candidate's performance during the course

A student who completes all projects, applies feedback consistently, and can present their work clearly is in a different position from a student who completes the minimum requirements.

The quality of the portfolio

Four well-documented, revised projects are more useful in an interview than eight superficial ones. Quality of documented work matters more than volume.

The candidate's communication and interview skills

Technical capability alone does not determine hiring outcomes. Employers evaluate communication, professional conduct, and fit alongside skills.

The candidate's effort after the course

Staying current with platform changes, continuing to build projects, and applying consistently and deliberately after the course are entirely in the student's control.

Optional

Supervised Agency Exposure

Some students, after evaluation during the program, may be offered supervised exposure to specific Golden Markers agency projects when a suitable case arises. This depends on project review quality, attendance, professional conduct, and project availability. It is not guaranteed for every student.

When it happens, it gives the student one or more projects built from a live brief, reviewed under agency conditions. That is a different type of portfolio entry from a training project, and it is evaluated differently by employers.

Alumni Outcomes

[PLACEHOLDER: this section should be populated with verified data only. For example: percentage of students who completed all required portfolio projects, a sample of job titles held by alumni, a genuine testimonial from an alumnus willing to be named and quoted. Do not publish estimated or approximated figures.]
